Who Will You Serve Today?

“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt,and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15

Who will you serve today... or, what will you serve today? Think about where you place your loyalty or service. Yes, we are believers and serve Christ but things in our life often can challenge or consume our attention. Not that focusing on other things is inherently bad but let us be on guard to not let something or someone else cause us to lean away instead of leaning more into our relationship with our Savior. Let us joyfully declare today that 'for me' I will serve the Lord.

Lord, I pray for strength to not let anything take my focus away from Jesus. I am grateful that you have given me so many blessings but none of those things should become an idol in my life and above all I will praise your name. Amen
